For Bobbie Goodrich, photography started out as a reference point for her needs as an oil painter. Then she
realized that the images she was creating from the camera were capturing all the elements of anoil canvas... color, light and shadows, depth and composition. If she could only enhance the imagewith a few more adjustments... getting rid of distracting elements and disharmonious colors... and addingsubtle, painterly nuances and drama, she would have her fine art piece.

Bobbie likes to say she went to the 'School of Intuition' rather than the usual modes of method andtechnicality... although she has done a lot of that, too. When she captures an image on her canon
camera now, the basics are there. Her acclaimed expertise with Nik Filters came after she realizedthat she was able to 'paint' with the filters... applying each chosen filter with fine or bold strokes ofthe software brush, rather than applying it globally, and creating subtle depth, light, shadows and colorwherever it was needed. The result... an intuitive creation that is truly unique and individual.
